Braids, BRAIDS, Braids!!!

Braids can be used as a fun way to dress hair up or to keep hair from becoming tangled. There are many options: French braids, Dutch, Fishtail and our most popular the Elsa braid.. to name a few!

Our Longmont stylist, Miss April, put together a few quick tips, for when you are trying to braid:
  1. Make sure you stay behind the braid..so basically move with the hair as you braid, in the direction you want the braid to go! If your braids are "wiggly/loose" this means you are not staying behind it!
  2. For tight braids make sure to keep your fingers on the strands of hair, as close to the scalp as possible.
  3. If your kiddo has fine hair, Miss April recommends slightly dampening the hair, with your fingers or using a light gel. This allows you to keep a better grip and keep strands in place.
  4. Don't be intimidated to try!
We also offer braiding classes at Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids! Ask your stylist next time you're in for our next upcoming in person class! Classes are $25 and include lessons on three different braids (we set up classes based on skill levels), and a little baggie of hair goodies to help you along your braiding adventures!
