Our Longmont stylist, Miss April, put together a few quick tips, for when you are trying to braid:
Our Longmont stylist, Miss April, put together a few quick tips, for when you are trying to braid:
- Make sure you stay behind the braid..so basically move with the hair as you braid, in the direction you want the braid to go! If your braids are "wiggly/loose" this means you are not staying behind it!
- For tight braids make sure to keep your fingers on the strands of hair, as close to the scalp as possible.
- If your kiddo has fine hair, Miss April recommends slightly dampening the hair, with your fingers or using a light gel. This allows you to keep a better grip and keep strands in place.
- Don't be intimidated to try!
We also offer braiding classes at Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids! Ask your stylist next time you're in for our next upcoming in person class! Classes are $25 and include lessons on three different braids (we set up classes based on skill levels), and a little baggie of hair goodies to help you along your braiding adventures!
